How to Run Centers & Stations in the Middle School ELA Classroom

Easy, Realistic Centers in the Middle School ELA Classroom

Freaking out over how in the world can you actually use centers and stations in your classroom without being completely overwhelmed?

Concerned that you don’t have enough time, don’t know how to enforce student accountability, don’t know what the stations should look like, or panicking that you simply can’t keep up?

These are absolutely valid and real concerns!

I can show you how you can use centers and stations to successfully teach your students — in a way that is pro-teacher, teacher-friendly, and designed to make things easy for you!

And don’t worry, you’ll still be able to leave at a good time each day AND actually enjoy your normal life!

CLICK HERE JOIN ME as I walk you through the most realistic, low-stress way to sustainably implement stations without spending hours of your time planning and gathering resources!

I’ll show you what to put in the centers and how you can use what you already have, but in different ways so there’s no reinventing the wheel on your part!

You can be calm, cool, collected, and actually excited about centers and stations if you introduce them strategically.

By the way, I’ll also provide a professional development certificate good for one hour to serve as a record of your time!

Oh– And I’ve got some great resources and freebies to send you, too!

Ok, so here’s what I’ll show you in the free online training > >

  1. Getting Started with Stations (even if you’ve tried a million things already, and even if you only have a 45 minute class period!)
  2. Student Accountability (without EVER dragging home your bag!)
  3. Realistic Station Ideas (with no extra work for you!)
  4. Training Your Students Ahead of Time (what to do, say, and how to practice)
  5. The “Teacher Station” (my favorite part, because I’ll show you my BEST kept secrets for HOW you can actually sit down and work with kids while the rest of the groups DO work).

So, how do you get started with stations?

I’ll show you the types of stations that you can run in your Middle School ELA classroom.  This includes HOW to use the stations to help students dive deeper into what they’ve been learning.  Of course, the teacher station IS part of the puzzle and I’ll show you how to make it effective (my best-kept secrets for nailing this one!)

I’ll also help you with strategic timing.  You’ll want to introduce stations slowly.  I will explain how this will help you hold the students accountable and show them you are in charge.

You should be very clear about behavioral expectations for station time, outlining and modeling your procedures from the beginning.  That being said, I’ll show you exactly what this means and how to handle behavioral issues.

Something else I’ll help you with is how to help your diverse classroom of needs from struggling learners to higher-performing students.  You may have students who don’t do well in stations EVER, and I’ve got some actionable ideas to share with you on that, too.

Finally, a HUGE source of stress for Middle School ELA teachers is the TIME and CRAZINESS involved in creating stations and coming up with the materials. Here’s the thing, though–   You can repurpose materials you already have for your stations!

I’ll show you EXACTLY how I do this and how you can, too, so you don’t have to create new materials at night and on the weekends during your own personal time.

Sound good?
